Improve your physical, mental and social well-being by taking part in fun conservation activities with Nature’s Gym.

There are activities available for every level of ability and fitness, so come along and enjoy learning and looking after your parks.  You will be guided through the activities by our highly trained staff.

Our activities include:

  • River management
  • Building bug hotels and stag beetle loggeries
  • Clearing invasive plants
  • Building dead hedges
  • Planting trees and whips
  • Weeding beds and clearing pathways
  • Managing ponds
  • Cutting back and tidying scrub areas
  • Wildlife surveys and identification days

What you need to know:

  • Sessions are run 3 days a week and 1 Saturday each month from 10am until 1pm
  • Sessions are run by our fully qualified nature conservation officers
  • All staff are DBS checked
  • All tools, gloves, PPE and training is provided
  • Refreshments are available
  • Families are welcome
  • Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear, we recommend no open-toed shoes
  • We ask that you sign a register of attendance for each session for health and safety purposes
